Employee Relations

Employee relations is the management of relationships between an employer and its employees, individually and collectively. It includes communication, conflict, grievances, discipline and consultation.

Example

An HR adviser helps a manager address a recurring disagreement about shift allocation and ensures employees can raise concerns through an established process.

What to keep in mind

Good relations require fair everyday treatment as well as procedures for disputes. Apply policies consistently, consider representation rights and check the legal requirements relevant to the workplace.
