Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using smallhrtools.com (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Site.

These Terms apply to all visitors and users of the Site. The Site is operated by Jopiz ("we", "us", or "our"). By continuing to use the Site after any changes to these Terms are posted, you accept the revised Terms.

About the Site

SmallHRTools provides a collection of free online HR and payroll calculators designed for small businesses in India. The Site is intended to help business owners, office managers, and HR practitioners quickly estimate statutory amounts — such as gratuity, provident fund contributions, TDS on salary, and in-hand salary — without needing dedicated HR software.

All calculations are performed locally in your browser. No calculation inputs you enter are transmitted to or stored on our servers.

The Site is provided at no cost and is intended to remain free. We reserve the right to add advertising or introduce optional paid products in the future, but the core calculators will remain free.

Calculator Disclaimer — Important

The calculators on this Site produce estimates only. Results should not be treated as legal, financial, accounting, or professional advice. Always verify statutory obligations with a qualified professional before making payroll decisions, filing returns, or settling dues.

Specifically, you acknowledge that:

  • Statutory rates (EPF, ESI, TDS slabs, professional tax thresholds) change periodically. While we make reasonable efforts to keep calculators current, we cannot guarantee that every calculator reflects the most recent amendments at all times.
  • Calculator results assume simplified inputs and standard scenarios. Individual circumstances — such as special allowances, exemptions, multi-state operations, or court orders — may produce different actual amounts.
  • The gratuity calculator assumes continuous service and applies the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972 formula. Actual gratuity liability may differ for employees covered under industry-specific agreements.
  • TDS calculations are simplified estimates. Actual TDS liability depends on the employee's declared investments, exemptions, and the employer's payroll processing methodology.

We accept no responsibility for any financial loss, penalty, legal consequence, or business decision made in reliance on results produced by any calculator on this Site.

Section 04

Permitted Use

You may use the Site for lawful personal and business purposes, including:

  • Estimating payroll and statutory amounts for your own business
  • Educational use — understanding how statutory formulas work
  • Sharing calculator links with colleagues or employees for their personal reference
  • Embedding links to calculators in internal company resources (with attribution)

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Site for these purposes, subject to these Terms.

Prohibited Use

You must not use the Site to:

  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically download Site content beyond normal browser use
  • Reproduce, copy, or republish calculator logic, UI, or content for commercial purposes without written permission
  • Frame or mirror the Site on another website without our consent
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer or extract proprietary calculation logic for use in competing products
  • Transmit any malicious code, spam, or content that disrupts the Site's operation
  • Use the Site in any way that violates applicable Indian law or the laws of your jurisdiction
  • Misrepresent calculator outputs as certified professional advice to third parties

We reserve the right to block access to users or organisations that violate these restrictions without prior notice.

Intellectual Property

All content on this Site — including text, calculator logic, design, layout, graphics, and code — is the property of Jopiz or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, or publicly display any content from this Site without our prior written consent, except as expressly permitted under Section 4 (Permitted Use).

The name SmallHRTools and the Jopiz brand are proprietary. You may not use them in any way that implies endorsement, affiliation, or partnership without our written consent.

Statutory formulas themselves (such as the gratuity formula under the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972) are in the public domain and are not subject to our intellectual property claims.

Section 07

Advertising

This Site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense and potentially other advertising networks. These ads help fund the free operation of the Site.

We do not endorse the products or services advertised. Advertisements are selected and served automatically by Google based on page content and (where applicable) your browsing history. We have no control over the specific ads displayed to you.

Clicking on advertisements is entirely voluntary. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any advertiser's website.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Jopiz, its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any:

  • Direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Loss of profit, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity
  • Financial penalties, interest, or statutory dues arising from reliance on calculator outputs
  • Errors or inaccuracies in calculator results due to outdated statutory rates or simplified assumptions
  • Interruption, suspension, or discontinuation of the Site

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Site shall not exceed INR 0 (zero), reflecting the fact that the Site is provided entirely free of charge.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jopiz, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Site in violation of these Terms
  • Your reliance on calculator results for business, legal, or financial decisions without independent professional verification
  • Any content you submit to us (such as via email or the update notification form)

Section 11

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Section 12

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will post a notice on the homepage for at least 30 days before they take effect.

Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you disagree with updated Terms, your only recourse is to discontinue use of the Site.
