Market Pricing

Market pricing sets or reviews pay using external compensation data for comparable jobs. It considers job scope, location, industry and the type of compensation being compared.

Example

An employer matches a role to relevant salary-survey descriptions and uses the results alongside internal pay relationships when reviewing the range.

What to keep in mind

Similar titles may conceal very different responsibilities. Check data age, sample quality and compensation components, and avoid treating one advertised salary as a reliable market rate.
