Part Time Work

Part-time work involves fewer hours than the employer's comparable full-time arrangement. The exact definition and associated rights depend on local law and employment terms.

Example

An employee works three agreed days each week while a comparable full-time role normally works five, with pay and benefits treated under the applicable rules.

What to keep in mind

Do not assume every entitlement can simply be reduced by the same fraction. Consider statutory protections, benefit rules and whether the workload is realistically proportionate to the contracted hours.
