Recruitment Strategy

A recruitment strategy explains how an organisation will attract and select the people it needs. It identifies priority roles, sourcing channels, responsibilities, assessment methods and measures of success.

Example

A retailer preparing for seasonal demand sets hiring dates, uses local advertising and employee referrals, and schedules structured interviews to fill store vacancies.

What to keep in mind

Match channels and assessment to the role and labour market. A plan based only on advertising volume may generate applications without producing suitable candidates or timely hiring decisions.
