Salary Review

A salary review is an assessment of whether an employee's pay should change. It may consider performance, role changes, market information, internal equity and the employer's budget.

Example

An employer reviews pay annually, checks current salaries against its structure and approves selected adjustments after considering the stated criteria.

What to keep in mind

A review does not necessarily guarantee an increase. Communicate the process and outcome clearly, and distinguish a change to the salary range from a change to an individual's actual salary.
