Accessibility in Hiring

Accessibility in hiring removes barriers that prevent candidates from finding, applying for or being assessed for work. It includes usable technology, communication and appropriate adjustments to recruitment activities.

Example

A candidate can complete an application with assistive technology and request an alternative interview format that measures the same essential capability.

What to keep in mind

Accessibility is broader than physical access to an interview room. Test digital forms and assessments, give a clear adjustment contact and avoid asking candidates to disclose more health information than necessary.
