Case Resolution Time

Case resolution time is the elapsed time from a defined case start to its resolution. It can be measured in calendar or working time and reported as a median, average or distribution.

Example

A payroll query is opened on Monday and resolved on Thursday; the recorded duration depends on the organisation's defined clock and working-time method.

What to keep in mind

Separate simple requests from complex investigations and state how waiting periods are handled. Pressure to reduce average time should not lead to incomplete investigation or closing unresolved concerns.
