Digital Workforce

Digital workforce is an ambiguous term that may describe people working through digital tools or software agents performing tasks. Its intended meaning should be stated in the particular context.

Example

A company says its digital workforce includes remote employees using shared systems; another supplier uses the term for automated software processes.

What to keep in mind

Do not count software bots as employees or mix automated transactions with human capacity measures without explanation. Clear definitions matter for staffing, cost comparisons and responsibility for decisions.
