Distributed Workforce

A distributed workforce consists of people working across multiple locations rather than mainly in one shared workplace. It may include offices, remote employees or teams in different time zones.

Example

A company has support teams in three regions that hand work over through documented queues and agreed escalation processes.

What to keep in mind

Distribution creates coordination needs beyond remote-work equipment. Clarify time-zone expectations, local employment requirements and decision ownership so important information does not depend on everyone attending the same meeting.
