Experience · HR glossary

Employee Experience

Employee experience is how a person perceives their interactions with an employer across their working relationship. It includes the work itself, management, systems, relationships and significant events.

Example

An employee's experience of requesting leave depends on clear rules, an usable system, the manager's response and whether staffing pressures make approved leave difficult to take.

What to keep in mind

Experience varies across roles and circumstances. Use feedback alongside operational evidence, and avoid assuming that a popular benefit compensates for persistent problems in everyday work.
