Gig Workforce

A gig workforce performs short assignments, tasks or projects rather than working only through ongoing, traditional employment roles. Work may be arranged through platforms or direct client relationships.

Example

A business commissions a designer for a defined launch project and separately books delivery services when order volume requires additional capacity.

What to keep in mind

Gig work describes an arrangement, not a definitive legal status. Rights, tax treatment and responsibilities depend on the actual relationship and jurisdiction, regardless of the label used in an agreement.
