HR Forecasting

HR forecasting estimates future workforce or HR-service needs using available information and assumptions. It may cover hiring, departures, payroll costs or expected volumes of employee requests.

Example

An HR team predicts increased onboarding demand from the approved hiring plan and estimates the service capacity needed during the busiest months.

What to keep in mind

Forecasts should be updated when assumptions change. Show uncertainty and compare estimates with actual demand rather than treating a single forecast as a guaranteed outcome or fixed staffing instruction.
