Human Capital Index

Human capital index can refer to a composite workforce measure or to a named external index. Its meaning depends on the indicators, population and calculation used by the publisher.

Example

An employer combines selected skills, retention and development measures into an internal index and documents how each measure is weighted.

What to keep in mind

There is no single universal company-level formula. Do not confuse an internal HR index with national measures such as the World Bank's index, or compare scores without examining their construction.
