Human Capital Strategy

A human capital strategy sets priorities for building and using workforce capabilities to support organisational goals. It connects skills, leadership, development, deployment and related investment decisions.

Example

An employer identifies a future shortage of technical supervisors and funds training and practical assignments to develop that capability internally.

What to keep in mind

Use specific capability needs and outcomes rather than broad claims about people being assets. Consider employees' interests and rights alongside business returns when deciding how the strategy will be implemented.
