Offboarding

Offboarding manages the end of an employee's relationship with an organisation. It coordinates handover, records, final pay, equipment return and changes to access or responsibilities.

Example

For a departing analyst, the manager agrees a handover, IT schedules access removal and payroll checks outstanding salary and applicable leave payments.

What to keep in mind

Coordinate timing with the actual circumstances of departure. Sensitive exits may need immediate access changes, while routine departures still require respectful communication and accurate, lawful handling of records and pay.
