Onboarding

Onboarding helps a new employee understand the organisation, build working relationships and become effective in their role. It extends beyond first-day administration into supported learning and early performance expectations.

Example

A new account manager receives system access, meets key colleagues, observes customer meetings and agrees achievable goals for the first three months.

What to keep in mind

A checklist can organise tasks but cannot replace manager involvement. Check understanding and remove practical barriers, adjusting the pace to the role rather than applying an identical induction to everyone.
