Workforce Optimisation

Workforce optimisation is the adjustment of staffing, skills, schedules and processes to meet operating needs with available resources. It aims to improve how work is covered and delivered.

Example

A support team staggers start times to match customer demand and removes duplicate approvals that were consuming time without improving service quality.

What to keep in mind

Define success beyond reducing labour costs. Track service quality, errors, workload and employee wellbeing so that an apparent efficiency improvement does not simply move costs elsewhere.
