Workforce Resilience

Workforce resilience is the capacity of a workforce and its supporting systems to continue functioning and recover during disruption. It includes backup capability, sustainable workloads and practical support.

Example

A payroll team documents its process and trains a second operator so that salary payments can continue if the usual specialist is unexpectedly absent.

What to keep in mind

Resilience should not be reduced to asking employees to cope better. Remove single points of failure and excessive workload rather than relying on personal endurance to cover recurring organisational problems.
