Change Communication

Change communication explains a proposed or ongoing change, why it is happening and what it means for affected people. It also provides ways to ask questions and hear feedback.

Example

An employer announces a team reorganisation, explains which reporting lines change, identifies what is undecided and gives dates for individual discussions.

What to keep in mind

Avoid presenting uncertainty as a settled decision or promising outcomes that are not confirmed. Tailor information to affected groups and use two-way communication to identify misunderstandings and practical concerns.
