Employee Wellbeing

Employee wellbeing concerns people's physical, mental and social experience of work and the conditions that support health. It includes workload, safety, relationships and the ability to recover.

Example

An employer reviews staffing and shift patterns after employees report fatigue, then adjusts schedules and improves access to rest breaks and support.

What to keep in mind

Wellbeing programmes should complement changes to working conditions. Offering an app or occasional activity is unlikely to resolve chronic understaffing, harassment or an expectation of constant availability.
