People Analytics

People analytics is the use of data to understand how people experience work and how workforce decisions affect outcomes. It often covers employees, managers, candidates and team relationships.

Example

A team combines survey responses with workload data to investigate whether employees in understaffed departments report lower confidence in their ability to meet deadlines.

What to keep in mind

The term overlaps with HR analytics. Agree its scope locally and avoid intrusive monitoring: collecting more personal data is not automatically necessary or proportionate to answering a workplace question.
