Purpose Driven Work

Purpose-driven work connects a person's tasks with an outcome they consider meaningful. It can relate to customers, colleagues, professional standards or a wider social contribution.

Example

A payroll employee sees how accurate, timely pay helps colleagues meet their financial commitments, making the purpose of routine checking work clear.

What to keep in mind

Meaning differs between individuals and does not replace fair pay or sustainable conditions. Avoid using a mission statement to justify excessive demands or imply that employees must share identical personal values.
