Resignation Letter

A resignation letter is an employee's written notice that they intend to end employment. It normally states the intention clearly and provides a proposed or required final working date.

Example

An employee sends written notice in accordance with their employment terms and asks the employer to confirm the agreed final date and handover arrangements.

What to keep in mind

Check the applicable notice and communication requirements. A proposed early departure or withdrawal of resignation may require agreement; do not assume the letter alone settles every outstanding employment obligation.
