Strike

A strike is collective action in which workers stop work to pursue an employment-related objective or dispute. Legal definitions, protections and procedures vary by jurisdiction.

Example

Workers stop work over a pay dispute after the relevant representatives consider the applicable authorisation and notice requirements.

What to keep in mind

Whether particular action is lawful or protected depends on the facts and local rules. Neither participation nor an employer's description alone settles the legal consequences, so seek current specialist guidance.
