Organisational Development

Organisational development is a planned approach to improving how an organisation functions through changes to people, relationships, processes and structures. It usually combines diagnosis, participation and evaluation.

Example

A business investigates delays between departments, involves staff in redesigning handoffs and reviews whether the changes improve service and reduce repeated work.

What to keep in mind

Start with evidence about the problem rather than a preferred workshop or structure. Sustainable change often depends on incentives, authority and working processes as well as individual skills.
