Leadership Development

Leadership development builds the skills and judgement needed to guide people and organisations. It can include coaching, feedback, learning, mentoring and assignments with increasing responsibility.

Example

A new manager practises performance conversations, receives feedback from a coach and leads a cross-team project with support from an experienced colleague.

What to keep in mind

Attendance at a programme does not demonstrate improved leadership. Look for changes in behaviour and team outcomes over time, using several sources of evidence and appropriate context.
